DO YOU
LISTEN
TO YOUR
BODY
"How many times do you ignore the little things your body is telling you?"

Do you push through when you are exhausted, having aches and pains, getting headaches? Recently, I had a very scary episode that landed me in the hospital overnight. I was experiencing dizziness for a couple of days that then subsided. A few days later I noticed I couldn't see my phone as well and shrugged it off as my eyes changing since my eye doctor said my vision could change overnight. However, the next day the vision changes were too much for me to ignore. I really couldn't see something right in front of me. Everything was blurry or missing and I had my contacts in. Next, I started to see flashes of light and that's when I got scared.
"I ended up in the ER...
they admitted me overnight to monitor me for a possible stroke. They ran many tests and everything came back normal and they sent me home the next day. The conclusion was TIA (a temporary stroke that does no permanent damage and subsides on its own) or a migraine. The neurologist I saw was leaning towards a migraine, however, can't rule out the other. This reminded me that I am not invincible. As we get older, more and more things can go wrong with our bodies and we have to be willing to listen to them when they are telling us something. Mine was telling me to slow down, rest, reduce stress, and take care of myself. All things we shouldn't have to be reminded to do BUT sometimes that's what it takes. I am going to listen... Do you?
